Rumours Of Lockdown In DK, Minister Kota Srinivas Clarifies
Mangaluru: “We have not taken any decision on the lockdown in Dakshina Kannada district from July 14. On July 12, a meeting was held with the Deputy commissioner Sindhu Rupesh and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel to study the present situation in regard to COVID-19 in the district”, clarified District Minister In-charge Kota Srinivas Poojary on July 12.
Kota Srinivas Poojary further stated, “During the meeting, we did not take any decision on the lockdown in DK District. On July 13, there will be a video conference with the Chief Minister during which a decision will be taken. Since the positive coronavirus cases are rapidly increasing in the district, the public is voluntarily imposing lockdown in their areas.”
Kota Srinivas also stated, “People should not panic, we will not make any sudden decisions which will affect public life. We will discuss the present situation in the district during the video conference with the Chief minister. Until then no decision on the lockdown will be made”, clarified Kota Srinivas Poojary.
